Orbital AFM finishes the edges and surfaces of very complex shapes and cavities such as bottle molds, pistons, and coining dies with even greater precision, uniformity, and accuracy than standard Abrasive Flow Machining.

The difference being, in the Orbital AFM process, the workpiece oscillates orbitally in a horizontal plane while feeding the abrasive media vertically, this process allows us to produce ultra high quality surface finishes down to 0.4 µinch (0,01 µm) Ra.
