Improving Component Quality through Innovation

Minute surface geometrical traps inherent in most conventional machining processes can be a haven for dangerous bacteria, viruses or other contaminates in food or pharmaceutical devices. These imperfections also make contamination control difficult in semiconductor, precision instrument, timing devices, and other high purity industries. For nearly four decades, Extrude Hone has fulfilled the advanced surface finishing needs for these industries for high purity gas distribution systems. We leverage our advanced AFM process to polish internal (wetted) surfaces of such components as valves, fittings, tubes and flow meters that make up complex piping systems. To help the industry achieve its UHP goal in piping systems, Extrude Hone provides critical process development to engineers, process technicians, systems designers and component suppliers. We also offer a large selection of standard chromatograph tubing available from inventory along with other tube finishing services. The Extrude Hone AFM process is a proven method for polishing and refining the interior, as well as exterior, surfaces of critical components down to a 5 µ inch (0.12 micron) Ra finish or better.

Our newest electrolytic machining (ECM) process, known as CoolPulse, performs five key functions — deburrs, polishes, stress relieves, cleans and passivates (i.e., free-iron particle removal) — all in one finishing operation. Best of all, CoolPulse is a highly cost-effective and repeatable finishing solution for both high-volume and low-volume production runs.
